Cary Moon (Texas)
Cary Moon was a member of the Fort Worth City Council in Texas, representing District 4. He assumed office in 2015. He left office on May 17, 2022.
Moon (Republican Party) ran for election to the Texas House of Representatives to represent District 93. He lost in the Republican primary on March 1, 2022.
On November 9, 2021, Moon announced his intention to run for a seat on the Texas House of Representatives. Moon served in an acting position on the council until a replacement was selected in May 2022.[1]
Biography
Moon earned a B.S. from Texas A&M University. At the time of his 2017 run for re-election, Moon was the owner of Moon Financial, Inc. His professional experience also includes work as the chief executive officer of Community Bank and the chief financial officer of a medical company. Moon has served as chair of the boards of Fort Worth Tax Increment Finance Districts 7 and 13 and a member of the Fort Worth Internal Audit Committee, the Fort Worth Public Housing Finance Commission, and the Regional Transportation Council of the North Texas Council of Governments.[2][3]

The city of Fort Worth, Texas, held an election for mayor and city council on May 6, 2017. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was February 17, 2017.
The mayor's seat and all eight city council seats were up for election. District 2 Councilman Sal Espino opted not to run for re-election in 2017. Incumbent Cary Moon defeated Max Striker in the general election for the District 4 seat on the Fort Worth City Council.[4]
