Wildman obtained an M.A. degree in reading and literacy and a B.A. degree in elementary education. She taught for 40 years at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Wildman retired from the Aurora district in 2010.[1]

Three of the seven seats on the Aurora Public Schools Board of Education were up for election on November 3, 2015. All three seats up for election were at-large seats.

Incumbents Dan Jorgensen and Cathy Wildman filed for re-election while Mary W. Lewis was unable to run due to term limits. The incumbents faced challengers Grant Barrett, Linda Cerva, Monica Colbert, Billie Day, and Michael Donald.[2] Jorgensen and Wildman were successful in winning re-election and Colbert won election to the remaining seat.
