Clifford Bayer is a former Republican member of the Idaho State Senate, representing District 21 from 2012 to 2019. Bayer left office in 2019 to become the chief of staff to U.S. Congressman Russ Fulcher (R-Idaho).[1]

Bayer previously served in the Idaho House of Representatives from 2003 to 2012.

Biography

Bayer earned his B.S. from Boise State University in 1987. When he served in the state legislature, his professional experience included working as a medical research scientist for the Boise Area Veteran's Administration Hospital.

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 14, 2014. Incumbent Clifford R. "Cliff" Bayer was unopposed in the Republican primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[6][7][8][9]

Bayer won re-election to District Seat 21B in 2010 against Democrat Sean Carrick. He defeated Thomas E. Dayley in the Republican primary on May 25th by a margin of 3,437 to 2,034. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[12]

On November 4, 2008, Republican Clifford Bayer won re-election to the Idaho House of Representatives District 21B receiving 66.2% of the vote (17,097 votes), ahead of Democrat Steven Dillehay who received 33.8% of the vote (8,732 votes).[13]
