David Peebles
David E. Peebles is a former federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York. He began serving as a federal magistrate on May 22, 2000.[1] He served as the chief magistrate from 2012 to 2019.[2]
Biography
Education
Judge Peebles earned a bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1972. He then earned his J.D. degree from Syracuse University in 1975.[1]
Professional career
Judge Peebles began his career as an Assistant Onondaga County District Attorney. He then clerked for U.S. District Judge Howard Munson before joining the law firm Hancock & Estabrook, LLP in 1978. At the time of his judicial appointment in 2000, he was a partner of this firm.[1]
