During my youth, I dedicated countless hours to community service as an NYPD Explorer, gaining valuable insights into civic engagement. Concurrently, I served as a team leader at the M.S.72 Beacon Afterschool program, tutoring elementary school children while navigating high school and college. Post-graduation with honors from Stony Brook University, where I also had the enriching experience of studying abroad in China, I devoted over 5 years to education as a 9th-grade English teacher and college counselor. After leaving the education field I traveled the world as a professional actor, model, and music artist.Currently, I proudly serve as a Republican county committee member in the 29th Assembly District. My unique experiences have cultivated a worldly view of contemporary issues, and my deep love for Queens, New York City, and America propels my commitment to addressing pressing matters in my district and the nation. Determined to find practical solutions, I aim to contribute to making America great again for everyone.

The most important characteristics and principles for an elected official encompass a combination of integrity, accountability, empathy, leadership, and a commitment to serving the public good.
Integrity is fundamental, as it establishes trust and credibility with constituents. Elected officials must uphold ethical standards, be transparent in their actions, and demonstrate honesty in their dealings.
Accountability is essential, as elected officials must take responsibility for their decisions and actions. They should be willing to answer to their constituents and be held answerable for their promises and commitments.
Empathy is crucial for understanding and addressing the diverse needs and concerns of constituents. Elected officials should listen actively to their constituents, show compassion, and strive to represent their interests effectively.
Leadership is vital for guiding communities and making tough decisions in the best interest of the public. Elected officials should inspire confidence, foster collaboration, and demonstrate vision in addressing challenges and pursuing opportunities.
Commitment to serving the public good is paramount. Elected officials must prioritize the welfare of their constituents above personal or partisan interests. They should work tirelessly to improve the well-being and prosperity of the communities they serve.
At the heart of their role lies legislation, as Congressmen are tasked with introducing, debating, and voting on bills that shape the nation's laws. They must actively engage in the legislative process, crafting policies that reflect the interests and values of the diverse communities they represent. This demands a keen understanding of the complexities of governance, an awareness of the socio-economic landscape, and the ability to navigate the intricacies of the political system.
Moreover, Congressmen play a crucial oversight role, monitoring the executive branch's implementation of laws and policies. Through committee work, hearings, and investigations, they ensure accountability and transparency in the functioning of the federal government. Oversight is a vital aspect of their duty, preventing abuse of power and safeguarding the democratic principles upon which the nation thrives.
Constituent representation is another key responsibility. Congressmen act as a bridge between their constituents and the federal government, listening to their concerns, advocating for their needs, and working to address issues that impact their daily lives. This requires effective communication, accessibility, and a genuine commitment to understanding the diverse perspectives within their districts.
Working in the service industry demanded a strong work ethic as we navigated high-volume periods, customer interactions, and tight schedules. The fast-food environment required quick thinking, multitasking, and effective communication – skills that have proven invaluable in various aspects of my personal and professional life.
The experience also underscored the significance of teamwork. Collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations and provide excellent customer service taught me the impact of collective effort. I discovered that a cohesive team working towards a common goal can achieve remarkable results.
Moreover, the job at McDonald's shaped my understanding of customer service and the importance of meeting and exceeding expectations. It emphasized the significance of a positive attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering a quality experience to customers.
Close Connection to the People: House members are elected every two years, making them more responsive and directly accountable to their constituents. This close connection to the people allows representatives to understand and address the specific needs and concerns of their districts.
Initiating Revenue Bills: The House has the exclusive authority to initiate revenue bills, including taxation and government spending measures. This power underscores the House's role in shaping fiscal policy and managing the nation's finances.
No, it is not necessary for representatives to have previous experience in government or politics. In fact, embracing a diversity of backgrounds and experiences can be beneficial for the effectiveness and representativeness of the legislative body.
Firstly, individuals with diverse backgrounds, including those outside of politics, bring a range of perspectives and fresh ideas to the table. Representatives with experiences in various fields such as business, science, education, or community activism can offer unique insights and innovative solutions to the complex challenges faced by society.
Secondly, a government that includes representatives with non-political backgrounds can better reflect the diversity of the population. This inclusivity can enhance the legitimacy of the legislative process and foster a stronger connection between elected officials and the people they serve.
Moreover, individuals entering politics from outside the traditional political sphere may be less likely to be entrenched in partisan politics. This can promote a more collaborative and bipartisan approach to policymaking, focusing on finding common ground rather than perpetuating ideological divides.
While some argue that political experience brings valuable skills and understanding of the legislative process, it is crucial to recognize that effective representation goes beyond political maneuvering. A representative's ability to connect with constituents, understand their needs, and advocate for their interests is equally important.
Successful governance often requires balancing competing priorities and perspectives. Compromise is a means to bridge ideological gaps, facilitate cooperation between political parties, and promote the overall well-being of the nation. It demonstrates a commitment to finding practical solutions that address the complex challenges faced by society.
The Transportation & Infrastructure committee holds a special significance for me, driven by my extensive global travels that highlight the evident decay of our nation, verging on resembling a developing country. The deplorable state of the NYC subway system, frequently derailing trains, and the crumbling highways and bridges underscore the urgent need for transformation. Collaborating with tech leaders, I aim to leverage cutting-edge technology to spearhead a comprehensive rebuilding initiative for America's future. Propelling our nation forward, I envision a network of high-speed rail connecting every major city and capital, revolutionizing transportation.
Government accountability, on the other hand, goes hand in hand with transparency. Elected officials and government agencies must be answerable for their actions, decisions, and the management of public resources. This requires mechanisms for oversight, checks and balances, and the ability for citizens to hold their representatives accountable through elections and other democratic processes.
I believe in promoting robust financial transparency to empower citizens with the information they need to make informed judgments about their government. This transparency should extend to all levels of government, fostering a culture of openness that deters corruption, waste, and mismanagement of public funds. It involves utilizing technology and modern communication channels to ensure that financial information is easily accessible to the public.
Accountability mechanisms should be strengthened to enforce consequences for wrongdoing or incompetence within the government. This includes an independent judiciary, effective auditing processes, and investigative bodies to address any malfeasance. Whistleblower protection is also crucial to encourage individuals to come forward with information about wrongdoing without fear of retaliation.
