Campaign themes

2016

Wong's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

Serve the People

  • The greatest challenge elected officials have is staying true to the values that inspired them to run in the first place. That’s why “serving the people” is my number one commitment. By emphasizing the public service aspect of the job, I am reminding myself to stay humble, work hard, keep special interest lobbyists at a distance, and never take even a single vote for granted.

Protect the Environment

  • Government’s most important job is making sure that the people, now and for generations to come, have clean air to breathe, clean water to drink and safe places to live. Smart planning combined with best practices and decision making processes that empower communities will allow us to develop where we need to and conserve where we must without harming future generations.

Support Local Businesses

  • Making use of the human and natural resources that already exist in the district is the key to keeping hard earned dollars circulating locally. With the help of state and federal grant programs, we can attract private sector investments that will distinguish our community as a model for sustainable development.[1]
