Joseph Kumiszcza
Joseph "Joe" Kumiszcza was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 45 of the Maine House of Representatives.[1]
Biography
Kumiszcza earned his B.S. in business administration from the University of Southern Maine. His work experience includes serving as President of Online Associates, Inc., Executive Director of TechMaine, Business Director of MCBVI (Iris Network), Marketing Director for Fishman Realty Group, General Merchandise Sales Manager at Hannaford, and Advertising Manager at Emery Waterhouse.[2]

Elections for the Maine House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 10, 2014, and a general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for party candidates wishing to run in this election was March 17, 2014. The deadline for write-in candidates to run in the primary election was April 28, 2014, and the deadline for non-party candidates to run in the general election was June 2, 2014. The deadline for write-in candidates to run in the general election was September 22, 2014. Dale Denno was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Michael Timmons defeated Joseph Kumiszcza in the Republican primary. Timmons defeated Dennos in the general election.[4][5][6][7]

2012
Kumiszcza ran in the 2012 election for Maine House of Representatives District 108. Kumisczcza ran unopposed in the June 12 Republican primary on June 12, 2012 and was defeated by Stephen Moriarty (D) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[8]
In explaining why he is running for office, Kumiszcza stated, "I spent the past decade as a bi-partisan advocate for Maine’s technology sectors. Holding legislative office will enable me to build on a record of accomplishments and respect from both parties as I help grow all of Maine’s economic sectors. I bring to this race a unique perspective and background – service at the governmental level; hands-on experience in the private sector as a marketing executive, leadership in Maine’s technology industry; and an innovative approach to education and training for our region’s workers and students. My career has focused on growing business and expanding opportunities for others; an essential focus if we're to return Maine’s economy to dignity and prosperity."[2]
