Campaign themes
2014
Freeberg's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[2]
Education
- Excerpt: "As a life-long educator, my number one priority is to strengthen public and higher education in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I will fight to enact a fair funding formula for Pennsylvania’s public school districts and restore the cuts to the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education."
Jobs and the economy
- Excerpt: "Under the policies of Tom Corbett and the Pennsylvania General Assembly, Pennsylvania has fallen to 41st out of the 50 states in job creation. I plan to support policies that encourage manufacturing and high-skilled jobs here in Indiana County and the Commonwealth. Good-paying middle class jobs are the key to a vibrant economy."
Taxes
- Excerpt: "Many families in Indiana County have an unfair burden of property taxes. I would like to help reduce property taxes by making Marcellus Shale drilling companies pay their fair share. Every gas-producing state has a modest tax on Marcellus Shale drilling – except Pennsylvania."
Working for you
- Excerpt: "I’m neither a career politician nor a Harrisburg insider. While serving as your next state representative, I pledge to be an independent leader who works for the best interests of the residents of Indiana County."
