Campaign themes

2010

Woelfel's website highlighted the following campaign themes:

  • Energy - "I believe that the utilization of wind, solar and nuclear energy are vital complements to our nonrenewable resources."
  • Education - "I believe that an emphasis should be placed on retaining our great teachers and ensuring that the student-to-teacher ratios are as low as possible so that our children are placed in the best position to learn."
  • Drugs - "I support additional funding for drug treatment."
  • Agriculture - "As the old saying goes, “No Farm, No Food.” The farming industry is critical in a rural and agriculturally rich state like West Virginia.
  • Life - "As a pro-life candidate I have been consistently endorsed by the West Virginians for Life. This endorsement acknowledges my position on the issue of abortion."
  • Workers Rights - "Workers rights are critical in the continued health and progress of West Virginia’s economy and future. The right to bargain collectively is essential to ensure stability, safe work environments and adequate benefits."
  • Healthcare - "Our area possesses some of the best health care facilities and providers in the region. Unfortunately, many of our citizens don’t have access or have limited access to such resources when they need them the most."
  • Jobs - "Virginia is in a position to be a leader in the attraction and development of well paying jobs in various industries. "
  • Safety - "The 15th District has endured an unreasonable and unacceptable amount of crime and violence related to the trafficking and distribution of narcotics and a similar statute should be considered in Charleston."[4]
