Rene Griggs
Rene Griggs was a candidate for at-large representative on the Passaic Public Schools school board in New Jersey. Griggs was defeated in the at-large general election on April 25, 2017.
The 2017 election marked Griggs' eighth campaign for the board: she previously sought election to the board in 2001, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2014, 2015, and 2016.

Four of the nine seats on the Passaic Public Schools school board in New Jersey were up for at-large election on April 25, 2017. Three seats were up for regular three-year terms and one seat was up for a one-year term. Board incumbent Ray Carrera won another three-year term and was joined in his victory by newcomers Arthur Soto and Christina Schratz. They defeated Maltie Bhokal, Amilcar Lopez, Deyanira Pena, and Devon Troxler. Board incumbent Daniel Rodriguez defeated Rene Griggs and Omar Ledesma for the one-year term.[1]

Three of the nine seats on the Passaic Public Schools school board were up for at-large general election on April 19, 2016. Incumbents Maryann Capursi, Craig Miller and Peter Rosario filed for re-election. They faced candidates Juan Arroyo, Jeffrey Dye and Rene Griggs. There was no primary.[2]

Three at-large seats on Passaic's school board were up for election on April 21, 2015. At-large incumbents Byron Bustos, Salim Patel and Ronald Van Rensalier defeated returning challenger Rene Griggs.[3] The three incumbents, Bustos, Patel and Van Rensalier, ran as a slate called "Passaic School Board 2015."
