Rick Snuffer (Democratic Party) is an at-large member of the Raleigh County School District in West Virginia. He assumed office in 2003.

Snuffer (Democratic Party) ran for election to the West Virginia House of Delegates to represent District 31. He lost in the general election on November 6, 2018.

Snuffer was born and raised in Raleigh County. He works as an information technology specialist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, a role he has held for 31 years. He is also involved with Snuffer and Sons Angus Farms, which he runs with his father and brother. Snuffer previously worked as a vocational agriculture teacher in Fayette County. He is a member of the Breckenridge Baptist Church. Snuffer earned a bachelor's degree in animal science and a master's degree in vocational agriculture from West Virginia University. He has three children, three step-children and three grandchildren.[1]

Two of the five seats on the Raleigh County Schools Board of Education were up for general election on May 10, 2016. In their bids for re-election, incumbents Jack "Gordie" Roop and Richard Snuffer II defeated challengers Lewis Harvey, Amanda Crookshank Kennedy, Marsha Smith, and Russell Webb.[2][3]

Though the election was held at large, only two members from the same geographical district could be on the board during a given term. Snuffer and Smith were from District I, and Roop, Harvey, Kennedy, and Webb were from District II.[2]

Snuffer reported $1,423.00 in contributions and $1,423.00 in expenditures to the Raleigh County Clerk, which left his campaign with no cash on hand in the election.[4]
