Nichols ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 110. Nichols lost against Kevin O. Frazier, Phillip G. Steck (who also ran on the Working Families Party ticket, and Joe Landry in the Democratic primary on September 13, 2012. Jennifer Whalen ran unopposed in the Republican primary; she also ran on the Conservative Party ticket. Frazier, Steck, Landry, and Whalen ran in the Independence Party of New York State primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2][3]
