Special state legislative elections will be held in Alabama, Iowa and Minnesota on Tuesday, December 8. In Alabama's House of Representatives District 5, a runoff election will be held to determine whether Danny Crawford (R) or Chris Seibert (R) will face Democrat Henry White in the general election on February 16, 2016. The seat opened after the death of long-time State Rep. Dan Williams (R) on July 1, 2015.[1]
In Iowa, a special election for the position of Iowa House of Representatives District 21 will see Tim Ennis (D) face off against Tom Moore (R) for the seat left vacant following the October 2015 death of Jack Drake (R).[2] Meanwhile, voters in Minnesota House of Representatives District 3A will decide between three candidates to fill the position left vacant after David Dill's (D) death on August 8, 2015. After defeating three other Democrats, Rob Ecklund advanced to the December 8 election. He will be joined on the ballot by Republican Roger Skraba and independent candidate Kelsey Johnson.[3]
