William Connelly (Maryland)
William G. Connelly was a federal magistrate judge of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. He was first appointed to this court on March 31, 1995.[1] Connelly retired on 2017. He was the chief magistrate judge from 2012 to 2017.[2]
Biography and Education
Judge Connelly was born on February 11, 1952. He received his B.A. degree from the University of Maryland in 1973 and his J.D. degree from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1976. He also earned an LL.M. degree from Georgetown University School of Law in 1979. He served active duty in the U.S. Air Force from 1977 to 1981 and he served in the Air Force Reserve from 1981 to 2005.[3][1][2]
Career
Judge Connelly began his career as a private practice lawyer in 1981 with the firm Stern & Connelly. He worked in this capacity until he was appointed to the U.S. District Court in 1995.[1]
