Bill Whitmire
Bill Whitmire (Republican Party) is a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 1. He assumed office in 2002. His current term ends on November 9, 2026.
Whitmire (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the South Carolina House of Representatives to represent District 1. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Biography
Whitmire earned his A.B. from Piedmont College in 1972. He worked as an Educator for Oconee County but is now retired. He is currently the owner of S&W Farms. Whitmire served in the United States Army Reserve from 1971 to 1977. From 1998 to 1999, he served as Mayor Pro Tempore of Walhalla. He then served as Mayor of Walhalla from 2000 to 2002.

Whitmire and his wife, Kathy Lynn, have three children. Whitmire has served on the Board of Directors of the Walhalla Civic Auditorium, as a member of the South Carolina Council on Accreditation and School Improvement, and on the Walhalla City Council.
