Casey Filler was a 2016 candidate for governor of Montana.[1] He was defeated by incumbent Steve Bullock (D) in the general election on November 8, 2016.

Filler is a Montana native and grew up on ranches. He previously served in the U.S. Coast Guard, during which time he lived in Hawaii for 12 years. He lives in Helena with his wife, Ayrne, and two stepchildren.[2]

Filler ran for governor of Montana in 2016. When filing, Filler did not specify a party.[1] He competed in the November 8 general election with incumbent Democratic Governor Steve Bullock and his running mate, Mike Cooney; Republican Greg Gianforte and his running mate, Lesley Robinson; Libertarian Ted Dunlap and his running mate, Ron Vandevender; and independent Christopher Zarcone.
