Tim Steele
Tim Steele is the former nonpartisan District 3, Seat E representative on the Anchorage Assembly in Alaska. He was initially elected to serve a partial term in a special election in 2013 after the District 3 seat was vacated by Harriet Drummond, who was elected to the Alaska House of Representatives in 2012. Steele was elected to a full term in 2014.[1][2] Steele won a new term in the general election on April 4, 2017. He resigned his seat on June 12, 2018, for health reasons.[3]
Steele identifies as an independent.[4]
Biography
Steele holds a B.S. in business administration and economics from Fresno State University and an M.S. in environmental management from the University of California, Riverside. His professional experience includes serving 16 years in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Officer Corps. Steele previously served in the United States Army. He completed two tours of duty in the Vietnam War.[5]
Steele was a member of the Anchorage School District School Board for nine years. He was first elected in 2001 and was re-elected in 2004 and 2007.[1]

2017
The city of Anchorage, Alaska, held elections for city council on April 4, 2017. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 10, 2017. Six of the 11 city council seats were up for election.[6] Incumbent Tim Steele defeated David Nees in the Anchorage Assembly, District 3-Seat E general election.[7]

Elections for the Municipal Assembly of Anchorage, Alaska, were held on April 1, 2014. Tim Steele defeated Phil Isley in the contest for District 3, Seat E.[8][9]
