The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 11, 2014. Incumbent Tommy C. Hardin defeated Kyle Reid Chatham in the Republican primary, while Jessica Pfau was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Hardin defeated Pfau in the general election.[2][3][4]
