Cassandra Laverne Costley was a judge for the Orphans Court of Washington County in Washington County, Maryland.[1] She was elected to the court on November 4, 2014, for a term that commenced on December 2, 2014, and was to expire on December 31, 2018.[2][3] Costley passed away suddenly on April 10, 2015.[4]

Costley ran for election to the Orphans Court of Washington County.
Primary: She was successful in the Republican primary on June 24, 2014, receiving 15.1 percent of the vote. She competed against Paul Cox, Joseph W. Eichelberger, and incumbent Judges Frank E. Novinger, Robert Adair, and John M. Shriver. Primary candidates competed for 3 seats. 
General: She faced Joseph W. Eichelberger, Linda Davis, Eileen W. Wiggins, and incumbent Judge John M. Shriver in the general election on November 4, 2014, and won with 22.5 percent of the vote. Candidates competed for three open seats. [1][5]
