Gov. Eric Holcomb (R) appointed Beard as Indiana Commissioner of Insurance on May 17, 2021, to succeed Stephen Robertson following his resignation. Beard assumed office on June 2, 2021.[1]
Biography
Before becoming Indiana Commissioner of Insurance, Beard worked as a general counsel at the Indiana Department of Insurance (DOI) from 2017 to 2021. Before that, Beard was a legal counsel at the DOI from 2013 to 2017.[2]
