Marshall "Marty" Gazaway was a 2016 Democratic candidate for District 4 of the Louisville City Council in Kentucky. He was defeated in the primary election on May 17, 2016.

Gazaway grew up in the Russell neighborhood of Louisville, Ky. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. His experience includes president of the Beecher Terrace Community Council, retired law enforcement officer and civil servant, senior chaplain of the Louisville Metro Police Department, executive board member of the West Louisville FoodPort and OneWest, and member of the CHOICE Neighborhood Planning Council.[1]

The city of Louisville, Kentucky, held elections for city council on November 8, 2016. A primary election took place on May 17, 2016. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was January 26, 2016. Thirteen of the 26 city council seats were up for election. Barbara Sexton Smith defeated Bryan Burns and Marshall Gazaway in the Louisville Metro Council District 4 primary election.[2]
