Mike Rothman
Mike Rothman was the Minnesota Commissioner of Commerce.
Rothman (Democratic Party) ran for election for Attorney General of Minnesota. He lost in the Democratic primary on August 14, 2018.
Prior to that, Rothman was the Minnesota Commissioner of Commerce. He was first appointed to the post by Gov. Mark Dayton (D) on January 12, 2011.[1] Rothman's appointment was confirmed by the Minnesota Senate on May 5, 2015, by a vote of 35 to 22.[2] Rothman stepped down on November 17, 2017, in order to run for attorney general.[3]
Biography
Rothman worked as an attorney and co-chair of Insurance And Financial Practices at Winthrop & Weinstine, as an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota Law School, and as a law clerk, for the State Court of Appeals.[4]

Rothman was first appointed to the position of commerce commissioner by Gov. Mark Dayton (D) on January 12, 2011.[1] He was confirmed by the Minnesota State Senate on May 5, 2015.[2] On November 17, 2017, Rothman resigned in order to run for attorney general.[3]

On January 12, 2011, Gov. Mark Dayton appointed Rothman to serve as Minnesota Commissioner of Commerce, which includes the insurance department.[1] His appointment was approved by the state senate on May 5, 2015.[2]
