The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 10, 2014. Incumbent Andy Garfunkel was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Fred Wilms defeated Emily Wilson in the Republican primary. Wilms defeated Garfunkel in the general election.[2][3][4]
