I was raised in Randolph and have family ties in Pittston and Dresden. I would be honored to represent these towns and Chelsea as a Representative of District 53. I graduated from Gardiner Area High School, Bates College and Boston University School of Law. Before law school, I studied American Sign Language and interpreted and volunteered in the Deaf-Blind Community while working as a legal practice assistant. After law school, I worked as a lawyer, focusing on working for people who were discriminated against in their workplace, housing and education. I gradually transitioned out of litigation and into tutoring, first working for an elite tutoring company and then establishing my own business. I understand the importance of improving educational opportunities for Maine students so they can reach their potential and also the importance of creating economic growth so that Maine students can help our state meet all the challenges ahead of us. We need to increase investments into Maine infrastructure including Broadband and solar power because Mainers cannot be left behind technologically.
  • District 53 resident should vote for me because I believe in a woman's right to make her own reproductive choices. Supporting individual freedom is a core Maine value and I believe that the right to access appropriate medical care and make one's own medical decisions is a human right.
  • Planning for Maine's future requires the ability to face the fact of global climate change and to meet its challenges realistically and with the determination to find solutions. As our country moves toward energy independence, we have the opportunity to lead the country in developing technologies and practices that help our nation to meet its goals and also help our state develop economically.
  • A vote for me is a vote that protects our democracy. I will support our democratic institutions, support the rule of law and the right of all Maine citizens to vote and to have their vote counted. A vote for my opponent is a vote for the party that is denying the validity of elections that don't turn out the way they want them to turn out - a party that tried to have votes in many states thrown out, so that the state legislatures could decide the outcome instead of the voters. I trust and support our election processes in Maine and would never try to erase your vote. I
I am passionate about curtailing harmful environmental emissions and using the technologies and processes that do that to help develop our economy. I am concerned with housing policy and want to make sure that Maine communities get the information and support that they need so that we can meet increased demand for affordable, energy efficient housing, especially for the elderly and young home buyers. I am passionate about providing the best possible education to Mainers so that they and our state can reap the benefits.
I think that elected officials have a duty to investigate issues and problems that affect the people they represent. Having an office provides one with the ability to find and activate resources that other people may not be able to discover or easily use. Let's call this principle the duty to achieve competence. i also believe that listening to one's constituents is essential. Let's call this the principle of committing to representation. In addition to these core principles, I think an elected official should work hard. I also think an elected official should have some creativity and courage and a vision of the future. Finally, the ideal elected official understands that the purpose of government is to allow the people to accomplish by working together important things that could not be done without that cooperation. With that understanding ,elected officials should aspire to be useful, helpful and humble every day that they are in office.
1. To seek an understanding of current issues and problems and to create comprehensive solutions that work for Mainers.

2. To research and understand the economic impact of legislation in terms of immediate and long-term costs and benefits.
3. To provide information to constituents and to listen to constituent feedback.
4. To cooperate with legislators who are independent or of other parties when it will benefit the people of Maine.
5. To uphold the state and federal constitutions and the liberty of the people of Maine.
6. To uphold civil rights and human rights and to prevent discrimination against anyone because of their race, national origin, native language, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, marital status, pregnancy, citizenship, genetic information or other characteristic protected by law or common decency.
