Jill McCook is a magistrate judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. She assumed office on January 31, 2022.

Biography

Education

McCook earned her bachelor's degree from Emory & Henry College and her J.D. from Washington and Lee University. Both schools are in Virginia.[1]

Professional career

Before joining the Eastern District of Tennessee as a federal magistrate judge, McCook was as an attorney for the Tennessee Valley Authority and in private practice at Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz and Greenberg Traurig. Before that, she was a law clerk to District Judge Thomas Varlan.[2]
