Campaign themes

2016

Kramer's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[6]

Education

  • Excerpt: "Our children deserve to be well prepared for their future. A strong education system is critical to the future of our students and our state. We must return decision making to the local level where the parents and educators are best able to determine the unique needs of the students in that community."
  • Excerpt: "Having an effective teacher in every classroom is critical to the success of our state. Other than a child’s parents, a teacher possesses the most opportunity of any adult to impact a child’s life in a positive way. We must find a way to elevate the value placed on our teachers and to promote the profession of teaching."

Fiscal responsibility

  • Excerpt: "We must continually look for ways to maximize efficiency and eliminate wasteful spending in our state budget. The upcoming budget shortfall must be addressed before it is felt by every family in Oklahoma. It is our elected leaders’ responsibility to solve these issues before they put their constituents in economic danger."
  • Excerpt: "Creating an environment which allows businesses to grow is the best path to job creation. Minimizing bureaucratic regulations will spur economic growth in our private sector as well as improve efficiencies in managing our core services."

Governmental transparency

  • Excerpt: "We are a Government by the people. It means our Government is beholden to us, not the other way around."
  • Excerpt: "The State Auditor in Oklahoma, the person elected by the people of Oklahoma, needs to have the power to launch an investigative audit. We need more audits, and therefore more information in the hands of the people."
