The Nevada Mining Tax and Resident Dividend Amendment was not on the ballot in Nevada as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment on November 8, 2022.
The measure would have replaced the 5% tax limit on the net proceeds of mining with a 7.75% tax on gross proceeds and send excess tax revenue to state residents as yearly dividends.[1]
In 2014, Nevada voters defeated Question 2 in a margin of 50.3% to 49.7%. Question 2 would have removed the 5% tax limit from the Nevada Constitution.

In Nevada, a majority vote is required in two successive sessions of the Nevada State Legislature to place an amendment on the ballot.
The amendment passed in the Nevada State Legislature along party lines during the 2020 special legislative session. The State Assembly passed the amendment in a vote of 25-17, and the Nevada State Senate passed the amendment in a vote of 13-8. The amendment did not receive a vote by the state legislature during the 2021 legislative session.[2]
