Two of the seven seats on the Northwest Independent School District board of trustees were up for general election on May 7, 2016. Place 4 incumbent Judy Copp and Place 3 incumbent Anne Davis-Simpson were the only candidates to file, leading the district to cancel the election.[1]

Voter and candidate information

The Northwest ISD Board of Trustees is composed of seven members who are elected at-large to three-year terms. Places 3 and 4 were scheduled for general election on May 7, 2016. There was no primary election.[2]

Candidates running for the school board must be a United States citizen, a resident of Texas for at least 12 months and a resident of the district for at least six months. Candidates must also be 18 years of age or older and registered to vote.[2]
