Ron Austin is a former candidate for the Ward 4 seat on the Council of the District of Columbia. He ran in the primary election on June 14, 2016.[1]

Ron Austin was a 2015 candidate for Ward 4 of the Washington, D.C. City Council.[2]

Austin is a member of community groups including the South Manor Civic Association, the Citizens Advisory Council for the 4th District Police Station, and the D.C. Federation of Civic Associations. He was an aide to former Mayor Adrian Fenty.[3]

Support for Small Businesses
As your next Councilmember, Ron Austin for Ward 4 is deeply committed to helping small businesses succeed as part of a flourishing economy. He plans on lowering taxes for business owners and being tough on crime to protect both businesses and residents of Ward 4. Ron also wants to ensure that small companies stay in business by providing easy access to all of the improvement programs the city offers.

Tough on Crime
His plans include the need to identify problem areas and determine the type of action required for developing a vibrant city. These actions may include the participation of police, social services, or community outreach programs. Ron wants to make sure people are familiar with the city-wide programs regarding different crimes including robberies, purse snatching, and break-ins. He aims to take all the necessary measures to apprehend lawbreakers quickly and prevent criminal activity.

Senior Citizen Care
Seniors should know about the services available to them. Costly nursing homes aren't the only option. Although assets have protection through court systems and guardianship, Ron wants to ensure that laws are in place to protect citizens from being taken advantage of by criminals. By electing Ron for Ward 4, you are protecting small businesses and ensuring true job security in Washington, D.C.

Protecting Children
Children should have good schools. Ron plans on building good schools, as well as excellent after-school programs, recreational centers, playgrounds, and, most importantly, inspiring adult leadership.

Public & Charter Schools
