New Mexico has always been my home. I was born and raised here, and I deeply treasure our people, culture, landscapes, and everything else that makes the Land of Enchantment such a special place to live. My family has deep roots in our state and takes every opportunity to give back to the community that gave us so much. My mother is an educator in our public schools, and my father operates the same small family business my great-grandfather started here in the 1940's. I've watched the political dysfunction in Santa Fe - and I decided the time to act is now. Our students can thrive, our economy can soar, and our communities can be safe and bright - but not with the same old ideas and worn out approaches. A strong desire to give back to my community has shaped my journey into public service and provided me with diverse experience and insight into our state. While earning a Master's Degree in Public Affairs, I also had the opportunity to serve on the Board of Regents at New Mexico Highlands University. Then, working as a policy analyst in the Office of the Governor gave me an in-depth look at how our state government functions - and sometimes doesn't function. In my current role as a policy analyst for the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce, I work passionately every day to support the development of local small businesses.
THE ECONOMY

I'm passionate about supporting local small businesses and diversifying our economy. I believe New Mexico is an ideal place to do business and we need policies that reflect that, including removing bureaucratic red-tape, creating incentives to start and grow a business here, and maintaining minimal regulations to allow businesses to hire and care for their employees. We need to continue to develop our talented workforce and provide opportunities to keep our citizens in our state.

PUBLIC SAFETY AND HEALTH
We need to keep our communities safe. We need to make sure that law enforcement and first responders are equipped with the tools and resources they need to do their jobs. We also need to address public safety with a comprehensive, preventative strategy that addresses the root causes of crime, including mental and physical health, by ensuring that supportive services are adequately funded and functioning properly.

EDUCATION

As the daughter of an educator, and product of New Mexico public schools, I know the importance of supporting our schools and teachers. I will make sure our schools are properly funded and that money is going to our classrooms, not spent on bureaucratic waste. We need to invest in educational programs that can adapt with advancing technologies and prepare our students for all of our workforce needs.
