S. Brandon Coan (Democratic Party) was a member of the Louisville City Council in Kentucky, representing District 8. Coan assumed office in 2017. Coan left office on January 4, 2021.

Coan received a bachelor's degree in English, with a minor in American history, from the University of Michigan in 2002. He earned a J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2008. He founded Local Interest Consulting, LLC in 2014. His professional experience includes working as an attorney at a private firm, serving as advisor to the mayor and as deputy campaign manager and policy director for the Greg Fischer for Mayor campaign. After graduating from law school, he was a law clerk at the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky.[1]
