Career

Stabile was the managing partner in a law firm located in Harrisburg, where he worked beginning in 1987. He previously served as a deputy attorney general in the state attorney general's office from 1984 to 1987.[2][3]

Stabile defeated Paula A. Patrick in the Republican primary on May 17, winning 65.4% of the vote.[7] He was defeated by David N. Wecht in the general election, winning 45.4% of the vote.[8][9]

2011

During the 2011 campaign, The Patriot-News newspaper asked candidates for the statewide races when it would be appropriate for a judge to recuse herself or himself from a case. In response, Stabile said, "If a campaign contribution is disproportionate, you must recuse."[15]
