Lillian Harris Ransom was a judge on the Pennsylvania Superior Court. She was appointed to this court on June 13, 2016, by Gov. Tom Wolf (D) to succeed Christine Donohue, who was elevated to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.[1] Her nomination was confirmed by the Pennsylvania State Senate on June 27, 2016.[2]

Ransom was formerly a judge on the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania.[3] Ransom was first elected to the court in 1995. She was retained by voters in 2005 and 2015.[4]

Judge Ransom did not file to stand for partisan election in 2017. Her term expired on December 31, 2017.

Education

Ransom earned her undergraduate degree from Hampton University and her J.D. from St. Louis University.[5] She also has a master's degree from Temple University.[4]

Career

Prior to joining the court, Ransom was in private practice.[4]
