Virginia Morgan
Virginia M. Morgan is a former federal magistrate judge on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. She was first appointed to this position in 1985[1] and she retired on April 29, 2011.[2]
Education
Judge Morgan received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and her law degree from the University of Toledo College of Law.[1]
Career
Before her legal career, Ms. Morgan worked as a high school math and science teacher on Navajo Indian Reservations in California and Ohio. She began her legal career as an assistant prosecutor in Washtenaw County, Michigan. She then joined the U.S. Attorney's office as a trial lawyer. She worked as the Chief of the General Crimes division of this office before she became a magistrate judge in 1985.[1]
