Charles Binder
Charles E. Binder is a federal magistrate judge on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He was appointed to this position on part-time status in February of 1984 and began full-time status in October of 1984.[1] He was reappointed to a fourth term on October 30, 2008, which was set expire on October 29, 2016.[2] Binder retired from the court, before the end of his eight-year term, on April 23, 2014.[3]
Education
Judge Binder received his B.A. degree from Western Michigan University, Lee Honors College in 1971 and his J.D. degree from the Duke University School of Law in 1974.[1]
Career
Judge Binder began his career as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Wendell Miles. He then practiced law in Grand Rapids and Bay City, Michigan before he was appointed magistrate judge.[1]
