Biography
Emma Bouza was born in Le Mars, Iowa. She earned a bachelor's degree from South Dakota State University in 2002. She also attended Western Governors University. Her career experience includes working as an educator.[1]

|Emma serves on the Hawarden Regional Health board of directors. She is vice president of the Hawarden Area Arts Council and she also serves on the Hawarden Chamber retail committee. Emma is also the Special Olympics coach at West Sioux. In 2022, she along with her family were recognized as Special Olympics Iowa's family of the year.
She is a LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities) graduate and an Iowa Family Leadership Training Institute graduate. She continues to serve as a family mentor for both programs. She is also a family mentor for ASK resource center. She was appointed to the governor's Early ACCESS council for 6 years, with 4 years serving as council chair. She currently is a governor appointed member of the DD Council and also is part of the council's policy committee. Emma has been a member of the Child Health Specialty Clinic Family Advisory council for several years and is council chair. She also volunteers at the National Down Syndrome Congress National Convention.- I understand the value of teachers and public education.
