Biography
Dwayne Voegeli was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He earned a high school diploma from Eau Claire North High School. He earned a bachelor's degree from George Washington University in 1991. He earned a graduate degree from Saint Mary's College in 1997. His career experience includes working as a teacher.[1]

I have been a Social Studies Teacher at Winona Senior High School for the last 28 years, teaching civics and history. Every day I work with kids and families that come from a wide range of ethnic and economic backgrounds. I am a former Winona Teacher of the Year and a Top Ten Finalist for the Minnesota State Teacher of the Year Award.
In addition to teaching full-time, I have also been a County Board Commissioner for 10 years. This year I am the County Board Chair. I work with a number of different committees through the County.
I believe leadership is about service to others. I don’t just talk the talk at school, I walk the walk in the community. I volunteer with a wide range of community groups. I have received awards from the American Legion and the Future Farmers of America (FFA).- Leadership is about serving others. Public office should be about service, not ambition.
- A better world is possible. But it won't happen by itself, we need to help make it happen.
- We face many tough challenges. All of those challenges can be solved if we work together. We need less mud and money in politics. We need more listening and respect. We should listen more than we talk.
