Rickey Hendon was a Democratic member of the Illinois State Senate. He represented District 5 from 1993 until his retirement on February 24, 2011.[1] He served as an Assistant Majority Leader.

Hendon attended Farragut High School from 1969 to 1970. Hendon is a full-time Senator and a former television producwer.

On November 4, 2008, Democrat Rickey Hendon won re-election to the Illinois State Senate District 5 receiving 69,229 votes, ahead of Republican Jason Allen Braswell (11,297 votes).[4]
