Charles Bleil
Charles Bleil was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. He served in this position from 1996[1] until his retirement in 2010.[2]
Biography and Education
Judge Bleil was born in 1942. He received his B.B.A. degree from Texas Tech University in 1963 and his J.D. degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1966. He later earned an L.L.M degree from the University of Virginia in 1990.[1]
Career
After law school, Bleil joined the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, where he served until 1971. He then joined the Texarkana law firm of Atchley, Russell, Waldrop & Hlavinka. His judicial career began in 1978, when he became the judge of the 5th District Court (Bowie and Cass Counties). He held this position until 1981, when he was promoted to the Texas Sixth District Court of Appeals. In 1996, he became a magistrate judge.[1]
