Only judges of Connecticut’s probate courts participate in judicial elections. In total, 72 candidates ran in 2014, including 43 incumbents, with 39 running unopposed. The probate court judges are selected in partisan elections to four-year terms.

Interesting races
- Of the 43 incumbents running for re-election, seven faced challenges to their seats. All seven won their general election contests and secured new four-year terms.
- Judge Terrance D. Lomme of the Saybrook Probate District was the incumbent who was re-elected to his seat with the narrowest margin. He received 50.7% of the vote, while challenger Anselmo M. Delia earned 49.3%.
- Two Green Party candidates competed for the Stamford Probate District Court. Gerald Fox III defeated Thaddeus Hanset with 88.2% of the vote.
