Dewey Bartlett Jr.
Dewey Bartlett (b. March 16, 1947) is the former mayor of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was first elected in 2009, and was re-elected in 2013.[1] Before becoming mayor, Bartlett was a member from of the Tulsa City Council from 1990-1994.[2]
Bartlett ran for re-election in 2016. He lost in the primary election on June 28, 2016.[3]
Biography
Bartlett holds a B.S. in accounting from Regis College and an MBA in finance from Southern Methodist University. His professional experience includes working as the president of the Keener Oil and Gas Company.[1][2]

The mayor and nine seats on the Tulsa City Council were up for election in 2016. The filing deadline was April 13, 2016, and there was a primary election on June 28, 2016. A candidate was able to win a seat outright in the primary by winning 50 percent or more of the vote. A general election was held on November 8, 2016, for races with two candidates or races where no candidates received 50 percent of the primary vote. G. T. Bynum defeated incumbent Dewey Bartlett Jr., Tom McCay, Lawrence Kirkpatrick, and Paul Tay in the Tulsa mayoral primary election.[3]
