The city of Chicago, Illinois, held elections for city council on February 24, 2015. A runoff will take place in Ward 31 on April 7, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was November 24, 2014.[1] In the general election for Ward 31, incumbent Ray Suarez and Milagros "Milly" Santiago advanced past Sean C. Starr and Irma Cornier.[2] Santiago defeated Suarez in the runoff election on April 7, 2015.[3] Renne "Tex" Chavez was removed from the ballot in December 2014.[4][5]
