The city of Jacksonville, Florida, held elections for mayor and city council on May 19, 2015. A primary took place on March 24, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was January 16, 2015. All 19 city council seats were up for election.[1]

In the primary election for District 7, Reggie Gaffney (D) and George A. Spencer, Jr. (D) advanced past Niki Brunson (I), James Eddy (D), Donald Foy (D), Marc McCullough (D), Wendell Sams (D) and Sirretta Williams (D). Gaffney and Spencer faced off in the general election on May 19, 2015.[2] Gaffney was the winner.[3] Incumbent Johnny Gaffney (D) was ineligible to run for re-election due to term limits. Richard Cuff (D) initially filed to run in the primary, but he did not appear on the ballot.[4]
