I was born in Norway, grew up in Baltimore, and now I have settled in Ocean County, New Jersey.

I am a veteran math educator of over 15 years. I have taught every math topic from 3rd grade to Calculus 3 to students from many different backgrounds.

I live with my wife and three young children. I am also very active in Scouting America as a Den Leader and Unit Commissioner.
  • Fighting for Ocean's Families
  • Saving Ocean County $440 million in school taxes.
  • Committed to ending the abuse and trafficking of children.
I am very passionate about the safety of children and their education.
I really like what Angela Merkel did for Germany. She brought Germany into a longlasting time of prosperity, and she was very balanced in most issues.
Elected officials must faithfully represent the needs of their consituents above all else.
I am very good at connecting with different groups of people and then developing solutions that benefit all stakeholders.
The core responsibility for the State Assembly is to develop longlasting policies through consensus for the general welfare of all residents within our state.
I did basement waterproofing for two summers.
When the governor and the majority are aligned, then the legislature develops the detailed policies to clearly define the governor’s vision. When the people are more divided on the governor’s agenda, then the legislature is a check on the governor to ensure they operate within the bounds of the law.
The greatest challenges over the next decade will be related to economics. From artificial intelligence to cryptocurrency, our state will be a very different place in ten years. We must navigate these challenges carefully.
Previous political experience may help legislators more quickly navigate the rules and procedures of the Assembly, but faithfully representing the needs of the constituents is much more important.
Building relationships with other legislators is necessary to advance any ideas through the Assembly. Legislators are never able to do much on their own. Members of the Assembly must also persuade other legislators to support their proposals.
I really like what Josh Gottheimer and Mikie Sherrill have done through the New Democrat Coalition.
If I do well in Legislative District 9, I may consider running against Van Drew in Congressional District 2.
A few years ago, I helped a family move into their new house in Barnegat. The mother was so overjoyed by her community’s outpouring of love that she started crying. We really do take care of each other in Ocean County, and this community character is why I would be honored to represent our community in the General Assembly.
The governor should only have emergency powers in explicitly defined situations such as when there is a direct threat to the lives of millions of people.
My plan to amend S2 would save Ocean County over $300 million in school taxes by shifting the tax burden from those of us with high property values but low income to the communities that have higher aggregate income.

Elected officials must be an open book on finances. We need to know who is supporting them.
Ballot initiatives are good because they allow all residents to participate in government.
