Campaign themes
2016
White's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]
“ | Advocating for Veterans
When deployed to Afghanistan, those I was there with became like family. Vets look out for fellow vets. As an elected official I will advocate for veterans in the legislature, improving the quality of services that we as a state offer by expanding current programs, streamlining and making them more efficient, as well as looking for new and innovative ways to address the unique issues and challenges that veterans and the veteran community face. Preserving the 2nd Amendment I am a strong supporter of the second amendment, a gun owner and an expert marksman. I believe the right to own and safely maintain a firearm is a fundamental liberty that must be protected. I will not support an Assault Weapons ban or a firearms registry. I will defend the rights of gun owners in the legislature, with my vote on the house floor. Investing in the future I am a long time resident of Carver County, Minnesota. Investments in infrastructure, like transportation and broadband, are critical to the future of our community and state. Our youth are our future. We must ensure students are safe in school, educators have the resources they need in order to properly teach them, and opportunities like apprenticeship programs are available to young people as a practical alternative to expensive college degrees.[2] |
