Stuart Platt
Stuart Platt was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. He left the bench on January 20, 2009 to become the General Counsel of the Texas Department of Public Safety.[1]
Education
Judge Platt graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in political science. He then received his law degree from St. Mary's University Law School. He also has a master's degree in healthcare administration.[2]
Career
Judge Platt began his career as a private practice lawyer in Greenville, Texas. He later became an Assistant U.S. Attorney and worked in the Eastern District of Texas and the Eastern District of Tennessee. After 10 years in this position, he was appointed magistrate judge.[2]
