Henry Knox was a 2016 Nonpartisan special election candidate for District 29 of the Mississippi House of Representatives.
Elections
2016
A special election for the position of Mississippi House of Representatives District 29 was called for June 7. A special runoff election was held on June 28. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was May 9.[1]
The seat was vacant following Linda Coleman's (D) appointment to Mississippi's Eleventh Judicial District.[2]
Abe Marshall Hudson Jr., Earl S. Lucas, Henry Knox, Cynthia Blockett, Darryl R. Johnson Sr., and Dalerick Wesley faced off in the special election.[3] Candidates in Mississippi special elections run without party labels. Since no candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote, the top two vote-getters, Hudson and Lucas, met in a runoff election, which Hudson won.[4][5]
