An election rematch occurs when the same candidates run against each other in consecutive election cycles. In the 2025 general election, 22 elections in Ballotpedia's coverage scope are rematches for single-seat offices between the same candidates who ran in 2023. Additionally, four elections in 2025 are rematches for single-seat offices between the same candidates who ran in 2021, and two are rematches for single-seat offices between the same candidates who ran in 2019.
