Jonathan W. Feldman was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of New York. He was first appointed to this position on November 6, 1995, and he retired at the end of his term on November 5, 2019.[1][2]

Education

Judge Feldman received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University in 1978 and his J.D. degree from Syracuse University College of Law in 1981.[3]

Professional career

Judge Feldman began his career as an associate of the Rochester law firm Harris Beach and Wilcox in 1981. The following year, he became a confidential law clerk to U.S. District Judge Michael Telesca of the Western District of New York. In 1983, he joined the Western District U.S. Attorneys Office. He worked in this office until 1987, when he partnered with Frank P. Geraci, Jr. to start a private law practice called Geraci & Feldman. In 1988, he also formed the United States Arbitration and Mediation of Upstate New York. He was appointed federal public defender for the Western District of New York in 1992 and he served in this capacity until his federal judicial appointment in 1995.[3]
