Riemer's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[9]

Jobs and the Economy

  • Excerpt: "Expand the Transitional Jobs Program. For two years, Wisconsin has run a successful Transitional Jobs Demonstration Project that has provided thousands of unemployed workers with transitional employment while they pursue permanent careers. The state has failed to find continued funding for this program and it will end soon. It is essential to save and strengthen this program."

Education

  • Excerpt: "To begin with, we need to restore fairness to the school aid formula. Educating the children of Milwaukee, West Allis, West Milwaukee and Greenfield is just as important as educating those who live in wealthier suburbs. What we spend to educate the K-12 students of the 7th Assembly District should not be less than the amount spent to educate similar groups of students anywhere else in Wisconsin. I will fight for an equitable formula for school aid so that all of our children can receive a first-class education, no matter what school a student attends."

Taxes

  • Excerpt: "That's why I support getting rid of tax loopholes for special interests. To ease the tax burden on the middle class and small business, the wealthy and big corporations should pay their fair share."

Health Care

  • Excerpt: "Allow BadgerCare to cover everyone up to 133% of the poverty line."

2012

Riemer's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[10]

  • Job creation
  • Education
  • Taxes
  • Healthcare

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Wisconsin

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.

Click here for an overview of legislative scorecards in all 50 states. To contribute to the list of Wisconsin scorecards, email suggestions to editor@ballotpedia.org.
